The weather is heating up and with Summer almost here is the time that many clients decide to lighten up and go blonder for summer.
Going blonde is not something the team at Orenda hair take lightly (pardon the pun), so if your ready to lighten up we've put together our top tips on going blonde this summer,
OH and we added some pics for inspiration
1. NOT ALL BLONDES ARE THE SAME
Blonde is not a one-size-fits all, Just because it looks good on someone else doesn't mean its going to suit you ,your hair type, skin tone or your commitment level.
Firstly decide do you want a subtle result to highlight and brighten up the colour that is already there, or something much blonder and bolder? Do you prefer an all-over solid colour or variation and multi tones.
Once you've decided on a look you love, start collecting images for inspiration and a visual reference for you stylist.
2. BLONDE COMES IN MANY SHADES
Blonde comes in many shades and hues from icy platinum to warm caramel and champagne pink .The perfect shade of blonde for you, is dependant on your natural hair colour, skin tone, eye colour and style. Your desired shade may not suit your complexion, so talk to your stylist about which shade of blonde best suits your colouring.
3. BLONDE CAN BE HIGH MAINTENANCE
If you're planning on going lighter be prepared for the Upkeep.. If you want an allover bolder look you will need your re-growth touched up every 4 weeks, leaving it any longer risks banding, uneven results and higher cost to re-touch..
With more subtle highlights and a natural beachy look you won't need to re-lighten as often but you will need to regularly tone.
When you lighten hair you expose the natural warm underlying pigments.. which means toners are an essential part of your finished look. They refine the colour, add brightness and shine. Toners personalise your blonde making it as natural or as vibrant as you desire for your end goal and are an essential service to keep your colour looking fresh between touch-ups
4. LIGHTENED HAIR NEEDS EXTRA TLC
Let's be honest, when lightening your hair there is always a risk of dryness, when we colour your hair we will not risk damage and will take every precaution to maintain the integrity of your hair. Using treatments like Cor Restore and Blond-pro to protect and rebuild the bonds in the hair.
You will need to keep your locks extra hydrated and we would recommend a repair mask or or hydrating treatment once a week as part of your home care routine, along with shampoo and conditioner formulated for Blonde hair.
5. LEAVE IT TO THE PROFESSIONALS
Going blonder is a process and depending on how dark you are and what types of colours you have been having in the past, it may take a few ongoing visits to achieve the colour of your dreams.
We have the experience and professional ability to assess the integrity of your hair to determine how much colouring it can handle, Sometimes we say no not right now, because we don't want to create damage, but we will create a plan, take you on a journey and after a few visits achieve the best blonde for you.
